ABOUT US
OUR LOCATION
Gites et Vélos is located in the small hamlet of Lafage surrounded by rolling countryside and breathtaking scenery. It is the perfect place to switch off and get away from it all.
The towns of Mirepoix and Belpech are are only a 10-15 minute drive away or 25 minute cycle. Mirepoix boasts a beautiful medieval square with numerous bars and restaurants perfect for sampling the local cuisine, have a coffee and croissant or a post ride beer.
GETTING HERE

We are located 1 hour from Toulouse and 40 minutes from Carcassonne. Both cities have an airport and train station.
Toulouse has daily international flights
Both airports are served by most of the major car rental companies
If you are travelling by car we are 9 hours south from the major ferry ports and EuroTunnel

YOUR HOSTS
Esmée and Steve are from Devon in the UK, for years they dreamt of living near the French Pyrénées and creating a place where like minded people can come together to ride, socialise and recharge.
Steve has recently retired from a successful career in professional sport, representing Great Britain in paratriathlon. Having raced and trained all over the world, he firmly believes France has some of the best cycling there is. He is a Level 2 Triathlon coach and loves all things bike related, and he still runs and swims every now and again too.
Esmée is an acupuncturist, passionate cyclist and trail runner. She is a qualified level 2 cycle leader. In her previous career before acupuncture she ran an organic healthfood cafe and loves cooking with locally sourced seasonal produce, She does all the catering for our cycling adventures and venue hire.
Esmée and Steve now live full time at Gites et Velos with their springer spanial Bailey and free range chickens.
